Privacy Policy

We only handle three kinds of data, and only when the situation below applies.

• Contact form messages. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message. For a copyright notice the form also asks for the work concerned, the URL of the material, your statements and your electronic signature.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically logs technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device details, the page requested and the time. This is standard for any website and is used for security and operation.
• Google Fonts. Pages load the site's typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as it would for any request your browser makes.

The site loads no analytics, advertising or social media scripts. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in localStorage or sessionStorage. The calculator and comparison tools work in the page and keep your choices in the page address only, never on our side. Details are in the Cookie Policy.

Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR we rely on our legitimate interests to run and secure the site (server logs, font delivery) and to read and answer the messages you send us. Where the law requires consent for something, we will ask for it first and you can withdraw it at any time.

We share personal data only with hosting and infrastructure providers acting on our behalf, with the provider that delivers contact form messages to us once the form is connected, and with authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

We keep contact messages for as long as we need to handle them, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.

To exercise any of the rights below, use the contact form and choose the topic "Privacy request". We reply to the email address you give.

• EU and UK: access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.
• California (CCPA and CPRA): the right to know what we hold, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither) and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
• Rights you have under other privacy laws that apply to you.

The site is written for data engineers and is not directed to children under 16.

If what the site does with data changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
